T-shirt Madness at Threadbanger

The Generation T T-shirt transformation contest over at Threadbanger is closed, and to recognize all the entries, Threadbanger is dedicating all of next week, Monday through Friday, to T-shirt Madness!!! (i.e. sharing tutorials from the the runner-ups!).  More projects is always more fun. In the meantime, starting today, the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place winners are going to be announced. Tune in today, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 for the third place winner, Thursday, August 6, 2009 for the second place winner, and Friday, August 7, 2009 for the first place winner–all at Threadbanger. Snip, snip, snip!

Megan, those videos are awesome, but the thing with Threadbanger is, it’s a fair bit more difficult than the projects in the Generation T books. For example, Mollie who made the wrap shirt in the second-place video claimed that it was an “intermediate” project, but you gave instructions in the second book for a wrap shirt that was actually easier to make than Mollie’s, and you labelled it as a level 4, which is more advanced. So, I’m not really comfortable with Threadbanger, because I’m afraid I’ll get in over my head, make a mistake, and end up giving up on the whole thing and making another throw pillow, lol.

Yes, sometimes their tutorials are a little more advanced (made more apparent by the speed of the camera), but it’s just another format. I try to make all of my projects fairly approachable, so it is likely that a rating 4 or 5 in my book is easier than the equivalent in another tutorial. But try not to get discouraged! Persevere! If you love a project, it’s worth the time and patience.

It’s okay, Megan, I think the projects in your book (at least the second one) suit me better than most of the stuff on Threadbanger. I don’t really have the body or the personality to be able to pull off a halter top that’s been spaghettified, lol.
